Home Tour: Cozy & Minimalist Style
Our full home tour! Welcome to our snug little haven in Glasgow, Scotland! For the past seven months, we've been on a delightful journey crafting this minimalist masterpiece, and I can barely contain my excitement to finally show it off to you! I have most of the decor linked in the blog posts below, so be sure to check those out.
With all packing and unpacking, the past month has truly flown by but now, I can joyfully proclaim that the new place finally feels like home🏡 Maybe it's because each item has finally found a place where it belongs.
So, let’s get into it! Be sure to watch my full YouTube video to catch all of the deets. I’ll be sure to link as much as I can below! (*may contain affiliate links).
1 — The Entrance
When you first walk in to the left you’ll see an entryway shelf organiser which is really perfect for storing our mail, keys, wallets and sunglasses. Just all of the odds and ends that we need as we’re going in and out. We don’t really have much space for storage so we try to keep things as tidy as possible by giving everything a home.
The hooks have smooth lines, simple and elegant appearance, full of modern style, suitable for all kinds of home decoration styles, even without hanging items can be a delicate decoration. The full-length mirror is placed at the entrance, so give us a good vibe before leaving. I like arches🤭 The edges are thin, so it makes the entrance look bigger.
The entrance overlooks the dining and living areas.
2 — The Dining Room
The spacious round light fixture beautifully accentuates the dining area, establishing a modern and minimalist atmosphere. It serves not only as a lamp but also as a piece of art when the lights are turned off.
My mother-in-law gifted us this dining table, and we both felt in love with it at first sight. The round shape and thickness give you a warm feel. I want to use it for a long time!
The artworks are charming pieces I acquired from Homesense in Perth, captivated by their cosy/rustic atmosphere.
3 — The Sitting Room
The sitting room is my go-to spot for watching all my K-Dramas, and it doubles as our entertainment area. We have a portable projector with NFC and auto-focus, complemented by JBL sound, which I adore because it provides ample space, making it both cool and convenient.
I often use this space to work while my hubby is at the office. It’s a calming area, with simple cushion covers that inspire me as I gaze at the garden. The couch was my guilty pleasure, a plush throne of cozy indulgence! I've always dreamed of having a white couch, and although some might find it impractical with pets and kids coming in and out, we carefully considered the choice. So far, it has been a fantastic addition!
I can't forget to mention how much I adore our lounge chairs in the living room. The spacious, comfortable backrest provides excellent support for our back, significantly improving our comfort. Furthermore, the ergonomically curved armrests provide extra spots to rest the arms, promoting even more relaxation. Whether we're reading, watching a movie, or playing games, this living room armchair has proven to be an exceptional choice.
The coffee table is quite large, with the perfect width and height for all our entertainment essentials, decor books and the wood adds a lovely touch. To give it a personal flair, I like to display our identity, fostering a sense of unity. I want this space to feel open, relaxing, and inviting.
We also enjoy diffusers, so you'll find plenty of them scattered around the house.
4 — The Kitchen
Now, let's step into the kitchen, which I definitely consider the heart of the home. I make a conscious effort to keep the kitchen counter uncluttered to ensure easy cleaning.
The storage in the kitchen is well-organized for user-friendliness. I'm pleased that the depth is spacious, as it allows for easy meal preparation while cooking. A large trash bin, divided into three compartments, is incredibly helpful.
We use glasses, flatware, plates, and bowls from a brand called Dunelm, which I highly recommend. We’ve had them for two years, and everything has held up beautifully since we moved into our house, and we absolutely love them.
Multipurpose organiser boxes are my go-to solution for keeping our home tidy and organised. We had to get creative and design our own storage solutions as well.
That's a wrap for today! I hope you had a wonderful time visiting my home. You can find most of the decor items featured in the blog post, so be sure to check it out!
